In September 2025, the IDIWATER Acceleration Programme launched its open call, an initiative designed to support disruptive ideas and innovative solutions within the water sector.

Representatives of the DESAL+ Living Lab platform, the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC), and the Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society (SPEGC) participated in the 2026 Global Water Summit, one of the most important international events in the water sector, held in Madrid on May 18, 19, and 20.

This edition, organized within the framework of the IDIWATER project by the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC), included the participation of technicians from all African countries covered by the project.

The IDIWATER project held a coordination and technical training meeting in Gran Canaria with third-country partners, within the framework of its participation in the Bridge to Africa event.
