Ángel Rivero, from the from the ITC Water Department, attended the international conference EuroMed 2024 – Desalination for Clean Water and Energy, organised by the European Desalination Society, to present the new NF-OARO technologies installed in the Brine Valorisation Opent Testbed of DESAL+ LIVING LAB.
This renowned event was held between 6-9th May in the city of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, attracting water sector professionals from all over the world. Rivero’s presentation was titled “Practical application of NF-OARO technologies as pre-treatment and concentration stages for desalination brine valorisation”, where he presented the latest results obtained with the Nanofiltration and the Osmotically Assisted Reverse Osmosis pilot plants. These plants play a crucial role in the Brine Valorisation Open Testbed.
This representation has been framed within the Sol2H2O project and has received support from the SPEGC –CABILDO DE GRAN CANARIA, as one of the funders of the Brine Valorisation Open Testbed located in the facilities of ITC in Pozo Izquierdo. Additionally, the event provided an opportunity to present a poster of the Sol2H2O project, which seeks the development and implementation of a common scientific strategy, with a strong focus on enhancing the capacity building of researchers, going beyond purely scientific capacities and strengthening their research management and administration skills.
