DESALRO 2.0 es un concepto innovador de diseño de plantas de ósmosis inversa de agua de mar con el menor consumo de energía posible del mercado. Valores medidos de 1,86 kWh/m³ para agua de 38 g/l. Estos resultados del ITC se han generado gracias a la colaboración de empresas canarias y el apoyo de la Agencia Canaria de Investigación Innovación y Sociedad de la Información del Gobierno de Canarias (ACIISI) – REACT EU – NEXT GENERATION.

The project has the general objective of creating and consolidating a joint R&D&i platform in the Macaronesian region. The aim of this platform is to have an excellent, internationally recognised, research and infrastructure standards in the area of desalination, the water-energy nexus and the exclusive use of renewable energies.

This video, designed for educational and informational purposes within the DESAL+ Living Lab platform, has been produced by the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI) as part of the E5DES project. Its goal is to provide a detailed presentation of the operation of an industrial seawater desalination plant using reverse osmosis, located in the Canary Islands, showing the most relevant elements and equipment comprising the plant and featuring the functioning of specific components through 3D animations.

Two emerging technologies aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of seawater desalination have been installed at the facilities of the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC) in Pozo Izquierdo, as a result of the DESAL+ STARTUPS initiative, promoted with the support of the Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society (SPEGC).
