From November 10 to 13, 2026, the island of El Hierro will host the 1st International Conference on Renewable Energy (ICRE El Hierro 2026), an international scientific congress whose mission is to become a leading technical meeting point in the field of renewable energy and sustainability.
This event will take place in a unique setting: an island that has gained global recognition as a natural laboratory for innovation and energy sustainability, thanks to its outstanding track record in the integration of renewable energies and its pursuit of energy self-sufficiency.
The conference will combine in-person sessions, plenary lectures, technical presentations, and networking opportunities, fostering the exchange of results and experiences. A key element of ICRE El Hierro 2026 is the active participation of the IDIWATER Project, an initiative focused on innovation in sustainable water and energy management, with special emphasis on the water–energy nexus, the digitalization of water infrastructures, and climate resilience in island environments.
This conference is supported by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and is registered under Conference Registration Number 69094. All proposals will be subject to a peer-review process, and accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.
