International Conference on Saline Agriculture (ICSA 2026) – Sustainable Utilization of Saline-Alkali Land and Global Food Security

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), together with the National Technology Innovation Centre for Saline-Alkali Agriculture (NTICSA) and a wide range of international partners, is organizing the International Conference on Saline Agriculture (ICSA 2026) in Dongying, China, 20–23 October 2026. The conference aims to accelerate global action and collaboration on saline agriculture and will be held in English, both online and in-person.

The conference will bring together stakeholders from China and around the world to share knowledge, experiences and innovative solutions for sustainable saline agriculture. It will foster dialogue among government, research, education, and public and private sectors on emerging technologies, policies, practices and opportunities for global collaboration.

The objectives of the conference are to:

• examine the latest scientific advances and innovative technologies for the comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land;
• share practices and experiences on the sustainable management and utilization of saline-alkali land;
• identify key enabling factors or conditions to scale up sustainable and resilient saline agriculture; and
• identify priority actions towards consensus on a global initiative for sustainable and climate-resilient saline agriculture.
